Stamford Yellow leap frogged their fellow Stamford White colleagues with an exellent performance on game day 6 of the Midlands Premier League.
A tough looking set of games for the Yellows didn't faze the team and they opened with an excellent 3-1 win against Leicester, followed by over coming Boston 2-1 in another tight game between the clubs.
Gary Wildsmith continued his excellent goal scoring form notching four more on the day, two in each game. With Kurt Garbutt the other scorer.
These two wins have lifted Yellow to third in the table as both Stamford White and Leicester lost both of their matches.
Sadly, Stamford White, reduced to a bare six due to illness and injury did not fare so well. Although they showed a spirit against league leaders Bramcote, they fell to a heavy 4-1 defeat.
This was followed by a lacklustre performance where the team did not move the ball well and as a result they fell to a surprise 4-2 defeat to Oakham. Trevor Oliver was man of the match in both games for the Whites. On a more positive note for the Whites, Will Barrett broke his streak of bad luck and notched and excellent goal to get back on scoring track.
Congratulations to Bramcote who secured the inaugural WFA Midlands Premiership with two games to spare.
