Congratulations to the Lincs South 50's & 60's 'Rep' teams who WON the Linxs Shield this year against teams from Mid Lincs, North Lincs & Northumberland (guest team) at Grantham Town FC.
The 60's 'Rep' team led by Steve Slater (Boston WF) was made up of players from Boston, Grantham Town, Long Bennington & Stamford, who were Paul Edward Beard, Lee Tillen & Will Barrett.
The 50's 'Rep' team led by Dave Scotney (Boston Walking Football in Boston) was made up of players from Boston, Long Bennington & Stamford, who were Paul Kirby, Iain Ross & Paul Newiss.
The cumulative points from the 60's & 50's teams were combined to determine the Winner. Then with 3 teams having equal points, Goal Scored decided the Overall Winner = LINCS SOUTH!
This is the third time the Linxs Shield has been played, and it's great for it to be returning to South Lincolnshire - Well done to all the players taking part across South Lincs.
In addition, a total of 3 games for the Over 70's were played with Stamford's Trevor Oliver as GK for Lincs 70's v Northumberland.
Presentations were made at the end to the Refs, Player of the Day for each age group, & the Shield and Medals to the overall Winners South Lincs.
Our very own Paul Beard won Player of the Day for the 60's!
The final figure raised for St. Barnabus Hospice Charity will hopefully be in excess £350.
Thanks to Steve Longden & Steve Morgon for organising this event and all the staff from Grantham Town an all the players across Lincolnshire and Northumberland who played today.
