PDFL Season 24/25 MD1 Sunday September 22

The Over 50s B team were able to name a very strong and experienced squad, below, to kick off the new season at Jack Hunt School:

Strollers 2 Oundle 2 In their first game Strollers faced Oundle Whites. In a very even, end to end game Stamford played well to get themselves into a 2 – 1 lead courtesy of a trademark long range strike from Paul Blakemore and a penalty from Colin Barrett. Unfortunately Oundle equalised with a late goal to share the spoils.

Strollers 2 Glinton 3

In the second game of the day Strollers faced Glinton and Northborough and played well again to get back on level terms at 2 – 2 with another strike from Blakemore and another penalty from Barrett. Unfortunately Stamford conceded another late goal to suffer a 3-2 defeat.

Overall, two good performances marred somewhat by conceding a couple of late goals.
