Strollers 65s finished the season in style as they won the ASHA Healthcare Midlands Over 65s Cup so completing the League and Cup double for the 2nd successive year!
Stamford Strollers 3 vs Boston 0
The semi final was against Boston in a re-run of last year’s Final. Strollers were always in control and eased through to the Final with goals from Will Barrett and Gerry Monaghan(2) giving them a 3-0 win.
Stamford Strollers 2 vs Bramcote 0
The Final against Bramcote was tighter but when John Hutchins broke the deadlock early in the 2nd half there was only going to be one winner. The Strollers defence having kept 5 clean sheets in 5 games in the National Finals comfortably kept the Bramcote forwards at bay and when Gerry Monaghan added a 2nd it sealed a 2-0 win and the finished the season off in style.

And though not present today Bob Wood deserves a mention as he played a full part in helping Strollers through the group stages.
