Despite a gallant effort, our lads couldn't quite repeat last year's tournament win for the regional finals of the FA Peoples Cup.
As last year we fielded two teams, the Reds and the Blacks.
Our stronger squad, the Blacks, found themselves up against some tough opposition in the first round group but with four wins and a draw the headed the group and qualified for the semi finals. This was even more remarkable given the lads went down to 4 men against Long Bennington after Robin was sent off for arguing with the ref.
The Reds started well with wo 9-0 wins but faded, losing the to group winners Boston C and LBF Leicester.
In a very tight semi final LBF edged out our lads in black with a 1-0 win from a very controversial goal.
Boston A went on to beat LBF in the final and hence automatically qualified for the next stage of the competition.
